Join the students and faculty in the Department of Scandinavian Studies this Saturday at our annual spring Senior Majors Colloquium as we celebrate the excellent academic work of our four senior majors, each of whom will present a piece of their research in the discipline. 3:00-3:30: Reception, Phi Beta Kappa Room (Vickner Hall)

3:30-5:00: Colloquium Presentations, Humanities Resource Center (230 Confer Hall)

3:30-3:45: Zachary Blinkinsop: “Ingemar Hedenius’ ‘Language Postulate Theory’ in Harry Martinson’s Aniara

3:50-4:05: Annalise Dobbelstein: “Exploring Gender Equality Through Labor and ‘Labor’: A Comparison of Gender Inequality in the United States and Sweden”

4:10-4:25: Darailia Evans: “Symmetry in Translation: Translation Methods as Chiral Relations”

4:30-4:45: Mara Johnson-Groh: “Stories of the Stars: The Mythology and Folklore of Old Norse Ethnoastronomy”

5:00-5:30: Post-presentation reception, Phi Beta Kappa Room (Vickner Hall)

We also celebrate our seniors who will graduate this June with a minor in the Department: Emmie Belpedio, Lauren Biermann, Ellen Krueger, and Brittni Paschke.

We are so proud of the work our senior majors and minors have done, and we wish them the best in all that lies ahead for them. Congratulations, seniors!
