OUT OF SCANDINAVIA WEEK featuring 2016 Artist-in-Residence SOFIA JANNOK is finally here! The Department of Scandinavian Studies hopes you will join us at as many of these activities as you can! All events are free and open to the public.

Sofia Jannok will talk about her music and her activism (in images and sound) at the Department of Music colloquium in Bjorling Hall.

Lyz Jaakola, Ojibwe-Anishinaabe musician and educator who teaches at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College in Cloquet

Sun Hee Lee, Assistant Professor of English at Gustavus Adolphus College specializing in U.S. ethnic minority–including Native American–literatures and cultures

Roland Thorstensson, Emeritus Professor of Scandinavian Studies at Gustavus Adolphus College

Joaquín Villanueva, Assistant Professor of Geography at Gustavus Adolphus College specializing in geographies of power and restorative justice

Gwen Westerman, scholar, poet, enrolled member of the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate, and Professor of English and Director of Humanities at Minnesota State University, Mankato
